I was placed at this hotel through a business contact and it seemed fine. The rooms had a clean but very inexpensive and impersonal renovation, including a luggage shelf in an open closet. While rummaging through my suitcase, I made the mistake of sitting on the shelf which instantly cracked in half. When I told the front desk the next morning, I was treated as though I was a barbarian who had never stayed in a hotel before, despite the fact that I had volunteered information about the accident. I then offered to pay and was charged $188 for a cheap piece of press board that one could buy at a home depot for $10. The overcharge is outrageous, but the worst part of this was being treated so rudely for what, frankly is an honest mistake. I've traveled all over the world, and internationally 6 times a year and I have never had an experience like this. Stay away!!
Room Tip: be careful as everything is terribly constructed

We have noticed the damage of a shelf that you have broken in one of our new rooms. Our shelves (20 mm thick) are made-to-measure by a professional and are intended to be used for clothes.
Given the situation you have proposed to repay the damage.
A professional has send you the invoice concerning the repair work.
Usually, our clients come to our hotel to rest... and more often than not they come back.
