Reading some of the previous reviews, I think you'll find some changes have been made since those visits. The rooms are all very clean and seem to have new-ish carpets. The breakfast area also seems to have had an entire revamp as it is no longer a "dungeon" but a very bright and pleasant room, with modern and funky light fittings as well as art works on the walls. The breakfast itself is one of the best I've had in France. All the usual suspects were lined up; cereals, breads, croissants, jams, sliced cheese and cold meats etc, and then there were the little surprises; sliced bread and a toaster, cheese rounds that you could slice off yourselt and the winner for me, eggs. A big pot of creamy scrambled eggs, or in their natural state for you to pop into the boiler. And a nice touch is that you order your cafe/tea on arrival, and it comes out to you in a little pot with a pot of hot milk.
And as the title mentions FREE WIFI.
Location-wise, it was handy to everywhere. I travelled with a very heavy suitcase so caught a cab from the train station, costing 6Euro. As I did not have a car and hoofed it all over town and found the hotel to be well placed. Found some wonderful little eateries nearby too, and of course the restaurant at the back of the hotel is magnificent (pricey, but fantastic service and good for a special night out).
Service was always helpful and friendly, with everyone i encountered speaking excellent English. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again if I'm ever back this way.
