Advantages:
A 90 second walk to the railway station, 10-15 minutes to the boutiques, Galeries Lafayette, most places of historical or architectural interest, and a choice of good restaurants in the area around Les Halles. Best of all is that the hotel has a large leafy courtyard - great in the heat of the day. Few hotels in this price range seem to offer anything comparable. The staff are efficient and welcoming - special compliments to the gentleman at reception who checked me in on the morning of 12 July. I believe most, if not all rooms face the courtyard, which is not only pleasant, but a blessing as there are noisy and dusty roadworks in the city at present. Worth bearing in mind, if you're visiting Dijon in the coming months. However, my room was on the wrong side of the courtyard. See my pictures and make sure to get one of the rooms with French windows. What I did like was the bedside reading lamps, a surface to write or work on, clean, new shower, toilet etc, good toiletries, good bed and linen, storage space, mirrors, window blinds that let air in (the French windows have shutters, even better). In terms of size, it was adequate. The hotel also has a nice bar and lounge, and offers an attractive room service menu.
Flaws:
Pity because they'd be so easy to rectify. The room wasn't attractive, the walls were shabby, the carpet awful. The airco emitted a foul smell which rendered it unusable. An electric fan instead would have been great.
What I enjoyed most in the city was a walk through the botanical gardens to Chartreuse and the beautiful Puits de Moise, not far, but just off the main track.
