“Great choice in Dijon!”

This is a great hotel!

We stayed for 1 night and it was perfect. Really close to town, easy to find, clean, comfortable and a great bakery just down to the left.

We didn't have the breakfast as we were happy to have a croissant from the bakery (and for much cheaper)

The staff were friendly although minimal English.

We did have a bath one night which then meant there was no hot water, so maybe don't have a bath :)

I would recommend this to others, although there are stairs and no lift as this may be an issue for some.

“Fun little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

This hotel was a little hard to find due to the plethora of one way streets. It was in a good central location and we had no trouble with street parking. We had a room way up on the top of the building with its own little patio. It had a garret-like charm, and was blessedly quiet. The indluded breakfast was substantial. Staff was pleasant.

“A disaster”

My wife and I literally walked out of this hotel within an hour of checking in. We knew from the reviews that it was old fashioned but decided to take the risk. Everything about our experience was bad save for the fact that the hotel had wi-fi which allowed us to identify another hotel. Having visited that one to our satisfaction we paid for that night at Le Jacquemart and moved out. Why? First, the hotel is decrepit and close to non-functional. Having hauled our suitcase up a back breaking staircase to our "superior" room, we found it was made up of three small rooms, one being a 19th century bathroom, the second a pointless foyer, all three in urgent need of renovation. The actual bedroom smelt, the bed was lumpy, and - indicative of the hotel's problems - the light bulbs were the lowest wattage you can buy. When both arriving and leaving the front desk had nobody in attendance. On Sunday, when we walked past the hotel, we noticed the front door was locked. And we also noted that the hotel has been downgraded from three to two star, which is a generous evaluation. Fortunately, the rest of our stay in Lyons was excellent.

“Brilliant Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

The location of this place is great, minutes walk from all the main sites. We spent ages trying to find a well priced place in the centre of town. We were debating staying near the train station however I’m glad we stayed here as it is where most of the restaurants and things to see are. If we would have stayed closer to the train station, we would have had to have taken a long walk back, not great when it’s freezing cold and most roads are blocked off because of the roadworks.

The room itself was quite basic and a bit dated but clean, comfortable and large and warm. We were on the top floor so had a bit of a walk up. The bathroom looked like it had been renovated and looked new with a hot shower, although the cubicle itself was quite small. The building seemed quite old and had lots of character although it was a bit dark inside.

Check in was efficient although the receptionist was a bit brusque. The receptionist on check out seemed much friendlier so I think it depends on who you get.

I would stay here again unless I could find something better for the same price.

“Great value, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Clean rooms, bigger than at Paris, hot, good pressured showers, decent heating, good location although Dijon isn't that big a town anyway. Front desk doesn't speak English too well but we still managed to get by with what we needed. Unbeatable value.
