“Very nice, great restaurant”

We stayed here one night during our 25th anniversary cycling trip, and we liked this hotel very much. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating- nice welcome at reception, stored our bicycles for us, showed us to our room. The room was large, quiet, and comfortable- the only critiques are that the door of the toilette room barely cleared one's knees, and the room had NO closet, only an armoire (not a big deal to a couple staying one night, but surprising). The one star restaurant was a delight- great food, wine, atmosphere, and service. Breakfast was adequate- not much to choose from, all self-serve- couldn't order cafe au lait, had to make do with a do-it-yourself espresso machine. Hmm. Still, overall, we would stay here again.

“The food is what makes this hotel.”

Stayed one night on a RB&B basis. Room ok, dated. Good size. Views not great but not too bothered. Location is central but quiet street. Restaurant has a Michelin star. I guess it lived up to expectations. Service excellent. Food very good indeed. Wine list enormous as one would expect - heavily biased ( but not exclusively) burgundy wines. Breakfast very good. All self-service.

“Average overpriced room”

We stayed one night, three of us with our daughter (adult) and got a rather small room with a queen size and a rather mediocre single bed. Everything small and cramped with no view. Noisy service people in the morning. Everything comes at an inflated price, valet parking for 14 euros while you can park in the street for free overnight! Room at 170 euros!
However Dijon is a very interesting town full of places to visit and with great food.

“Slightly Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

We stayed at this hotel as we had booked to have dinner in the hotel's Michelin starred restaurant.

We had a most enjoyable meal in the modernist dining room and our bedroom had also been revamped in a modern style.

Although we had booked one of the smaller rooms it was not easy to get to. Lift to the second floor, round various corridors and then up a flight of steps and along another corridor - not ideal.

We found the "wet room", sink, toilet and shower, very cramped and not that clean either! The bedroom was pleasant but a little cramped and our feeling was that compared to many other Best Western properties we have stayed in across France 153 euros was too much to pay for this room.

Staff though were friendly and helpful and our dinner was absolutely first class although there were a few errors in service which do not befit a restaurant at this rating.

We will return to Dijon but will probably stay elsewhere next time.

Chapeau rouge
Just a quick recommendation for this hotel.  My wife is from Dijon so we come here a lot.  We live in New York City and have high expectations. A few years ago we stayed here and found the rooms a bit dated.  We decided to give it another chance once we heard that the hotel was recently renovated.  Wow, what a difference.  The service was great, as usual but the rooms have been VASTLY improved.  We booked a family suite so we had our bed room and the kids had theirs.  The TV had kids movies, in English and the bathroom was very large.  The hotel is wonderfully situated in the heart of the city yet is very quite.  The wine list is great and they treated us well.  A small critique, the jacuzzi bathtub fixtures could have been a little cleaner but not a big issue.  Everyone spoke English.  Last, not all rooms have been renovated so make sure that you book a room that was.

Room Tip: Be nice. The French do not respond well to pushy people
