I want to begin by saying, I like to give honest, detailed reviews on all of the places I visit, and was initially not going to review this hotel...but decided I would.

The hotel was beautiful in a nice square in Bourg-en-Bresse. It was formal inside, and the staff were very polite. We arrived at midnight and were desperate to get to our rooms. I had a room on my own, and was extremely pleased to find a huge double bed in my room, with ensuite, mini bar, tv and air conditioning. The windows looked out over the square and the church nearby. The bed was very comfortable and the room was extremely big and spacious. There was also a table and chairs in the room and a cupboard for your clothes. Breakfast was plentyful, with croissants, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheeses, spreads, bread, cereals, coffee and tea.

This is where it gets kinda creepy.... After sleeping for almost 2 hours, I woke to the sound of myself screaming...I felt like my body was posessed and I had no control over my actions or words. When I finally managed to come through, I saw something race past the end of my bed. I slowly got up to look inside the bathroom to see if someone was in there, but there was noone there. My windows were closed so, I didn't think someone had come into my room through the window. I turned on all the lights in the room, and looked everywhere, even in the cupboard..but there was no one in the room. I went back to bed, and lay with the lights on for some time before I began to hear a knocking sound coming from the cupboard. I knew the floorboards creaked, so tried to let it pass...but it just got louder. I picked up my phone and called my mum...on the other side of the world. I made her stay on the phone to me until i got out of the room, which at this point was so freezing cold, and it felt like there was someone else in the room with me. When I went down to the 24 hour reception office, they were very friendly and even offered to change my room. At this stage it was almost morning...so I stayed in the lobby until the sun came up until i could pack my things, and check out. I had friends in two other rooms at the same hotel and neither of them had any problems here.
Would I stay here again....based on the quality of service available..yes....but due to my ghostly experience, unfortunately I will not stay here again.
