Stayed at this hotel for a night on a return trip to the South of France. The hotel was easy to find, the proprietor was extremely helpful and spoke very good english. The room was clean, pleasant and comfortable. The hotel itself is located just outside the town's medieval wall, but only a five minute walk to the 'centre ville'. We decided to try the Hotel Restaurant in the evening instead of walking back to the Restaurants in town. What a great move, the food is absolutely superb. We had a 4 course meal, well 5 really if you count the amuse bouche, for 23e each. There are a selection of regional dishes to choose from and everything was of the utmost quality. You are presented with an amuse bouche before the starter. I then chose poached eggs in a red wine sauce, which were divine, followed by, pork in a creamy mustard sauce, served with vegetables. There was then a cheese course, with a selection of 3 different kinds of cheese, which were extremely tasty. I had to decline a sweet as I was too full, but my husband had the citron/blackcurrant sorbet with creme de cassis and said it was gorgeous. The hotel staff could not do enough for you and the proprietor recommended a wonderful bottle of local wine to go with our meal. Without a doubt the best meal we ate in France. If you stay here, you must try the food, its 1st class and excellent value.
