Large and clean room and bathroom ... the faux-leather tiles that seem to have bothered some others didn't make an impression on us. Quite Hermes-like, actually! The hotel is slightly out of town (therefore has space and quiet), and is very good value in these crunch times. We didn't have the breakfast (at 9 euros per head you can do better at cafes in town) but the conservatory where it was served looked lovely. For our 10 year old boy, the only disappointment was the swimming pool: quite small, and with an exposed, fenced-in feeling ... the website photos make it look far more inviting than it is. Otherwise fine, but tall travellers beware: although the beds are nice and firm, they are extremely small. I spent sleepless nights squeezed like a sardine against my husband.

We stopped off at this hotel on way down France on a recommendation in the Michelin Guide.

The hotel is situated in walking distance of Beaune town centre in beautifully kept grounds. As we just turned up without a reservation, they only had one of the new more expensive boutique style rooms, which was huge and very nicely decorated.

The family who run the hotel were very friendly, despite us being rather late checking out. The breakfast was ample and in a conservatory which looks out over the garden. As warned by the owner the swimming pool was freezing, even in August, but very refreshing.

Would definitely stop off there again next time we are travelling down France.

The reception was very friendly, the rooms were simple, but very good for the budget of 65€/room. The budget for breakfast was 9,5€ pp, what is a little bit out of proportion with the room rate, but it was good.

Hotel Grillon offers friendly and efficient service, quiet modern rooms and an excellent base for touring around Beaune. Mr and Mrs Grillon were very helpful. Value for money is very good and the hotel is certainly well above the usual Logis de France standard. It is perhaps a little far to walk to the old centre of Beaune for some people, but it's easy to get to by car and I had no problem finding parking closer to town when I needed it.
