I failed to notice in the guide that there is no elevator--we oldies need an elevator! The room was comfortable--good beds and a very nice, spacious, sparkling clean bathroom. However, our main concern is how dark our room was--even in the daytime, it was too dark to read comfortably in the room, and at night it was almost too dark to find the beds. Don't believe what the sign says about the reception being open until 11 p.m.--it's not. While we were there, they left by 9 each night. If they'd add some light, I'd give them a higher rating.

Given it's cheap, we did adjust our expectations, but there is no way it's a 3-star.

Female staff were okay but the men were very rude (and I'm a woman!). No lifts, so my husband had to lug up our suitcases.

We paid extra for the aircon rooms, just as well. Even so, it's so noisy, can hear everything from the next room, surrounding rooms in fact, the cascade of bottles going into the skip day and night, and staff that mill about the courtyard that keep talking very loudly.

The bed was awful, the bathroom smelled with a truly disturbing drain where you could some trapped stuff, and the shower had no water pressure.

We stayed here two nights in the family suite. Our room was large (but it was a suite), the beds were fine and the room was clean. The staff was friendly and spoke English well. I would not recommend the breakfast, however, which was pretty lean with no fruit. (The restaurant is supposed to be good but we did not dine there.) The location can't be beat if you want to be near the Hospice, nice restaurants/bars and the Saturday market, although it's a bit noisy.

I stayed here recently when I was attending the music festival that is held in Beaune every July. I had stayed in another hotel previously in Beaune and been sorely disappointed. This however was really everything I could have wanted.

I had a single room which was very comfortable and clean. It was to the rear of the hotel and so was very quiet - that said Beaune is a very peaceful town anyway!

The breakfast was good. I only had it once though because it was possible to get a coffee, croissant and tartine on the square for less.

The staff was extremely helpful - to the point the boss gave me and another guest a lift to the train station when we were leaving.

I definitely would be back here and would not hesitate to recommend it!
