This is a privately run hotel, within the Ibis chain - but it's not up to the normal Ibis corporate standards.
We had a very pleasant room overlooking the town and a great view to the chateau and hills beyond. The room was slightly larger than average, very clean, but with a window opening over the smokers seeking refuge from the bar.
There was plenty of parking, and the hotel was easy to find - but it is a way out of town, which means a drive if you want to avoid the dreadful, pretentious, overpriced restaurant in the hotel itself

“You get what you pay for, as they say”
First of all, the staff at this hotel were excellent- nice, friendly and very efficient. The rooms left much to be desired, however. They gave new meaning to the word "cozy": our room was so small that we had to step onto the bed to access the wardrobe. The shower was so powerful that the water just jetted directly down, making it useless for showering. The breakfast was expensive (€8) and they often ran out of food, without replenishing it.

“Functional and inexpensive”

I spent one night here last June while attending a conference in Le Creusot. This hotel is pleasant enough, and inexpensive. The rooms are quite small, but they look to have been recently updated. Don't come here looking for Olde Worldie charm; this is a functional hotel. The staff were fairly helpful (by the standards of this part of the world.) It is not in the middle of Autun; for that, try the St. Louis de la Poste.
