Hotel itself was nice enough, nice reception area, rooms are your standard good quality decor, though lacking in any character. Good location within Saint Malo's walled city. My problem was with the staff. The night receptionist who was on when we arrived, was very unhelpful and everything seemed such a big effort. Another issue I had was that, I had attempted to pay for the hotel in advance over two weeks before arriving. I phoned the hotel and gave my card details over the phone and the lady assured me it had gone through. Before I went on my trip, I noticed the amount had not appeared on my statement and so on the morning of departure from the hotel I attempted to pay in cash, the receptionist (same from the night before) told me that we had already paid, I told him that i had attempted to but I did not think this was the case as it had not appeared on my statement. The receptionist looked through his records and assured me it had been paid, so I said okay, but would check my statement again. On return home I found a rather abrupt email from the hotel saying I hadn't paid and that I must have stopped the card transaction (which to my knowledge you are not able to do) and asking me to give another card number. I contacted the hotel but the reception could not understand English too well unfortunately and I am awaiting for the lady who sent me the email to contact me.
I personally would not recommend the hotel on the basis that from my experience, I thought there customer service skills were very poor.
