The location was great and the sheets were clean, but other than that, the hotel was very poor indeed. We stayed in a family room which was vey sparse - I have stayed in better youth hostels. The bathoom was very basic and needed a complete overhaul. The staff were fine but I have stayed in much better hotels than this in St Malo. Bit of a downer at the end of a nice holiday in france. I am not an overly fussy person but would strongly suggest you find somewhere else- (Quic en Groine inside the walls or Oceania(?) outside (15 min walk but great accommodation and secure parking). Nice to stroll back long the front after your evening meal and good not to drive around searching for somewhere to park.

I stayed here last night and never go bsck. The room smelled very bad like old feet or good cheese. My pillow case smelled like an old dog died there. The hotel located in the walled part of the city which was really nice but there is no peace and quiet before everyone has left the streets. The walls are paper thin and you hear EVERYTHING ! the hallways are not well lit and my wife fell down the stairs and twisted her ankle. There is z garage at the hotel Nd must be reserved beforehand. We stayed in room 121. Never again.

My husband, sister and I were anxious to have a wonderful experience in St. Malo an historic walled city in Brittany. The city is interesting, however, I wished that we had chosen another hotel. The proprietor were very nice and helpful but the hotel is in need of renovation. The room and bathroom was worn and not very comfortable. The twin bedded room that my husband and I shared was cramped and the beds were hard. One night we were awakened by a loud disturbance in the street below, which the night clerk apparently was able to settle. It was not a restful stay, I have to say. The one really positive thing I would say is that we were referred to a lovely lunch place for galettes and a marvelous raspberry souffle tart. The hotel oweners apparently are known there and we were welcomed warmly. I wish that I could remember the name of the restaurant.

The location inside the walls is good but that is the end of the plus points. The Hotel is badly in need of renovation and everything looks very tired. Our room was grubby and the bathroom was full of damp and mould. It was expensive at 98euro for a twin room with parking. Breakfast was poor, 8 euro’s for not very much, no ham or cheese and awful coffee.

There are much better hotels in the area for similar prices. I would not stay here again.
