The Hotel de Nemours is a lovely hotel situated in the middle of town just around the corner from the Republique Metro which is just two stops along on the Metro from the main train station if you are coming from Paris on the TGV (a fast and very comfortable trip). This small hotel is close to many restaurants, shopping and the old city and we just loved how convenient it was.
Room decor was very modern and the bed linen and pillows were luxurious. Bathroom was good although the vanity cabinet bench was chipped badly and needed replacing. As everyone says, the lift is the tiniest lift ever but nonetheless my husband managed to fit two bags stacked high on their ends and himself (while he held his breath) for his journey to the 4th floor. The reception people were very polite and helpful and we liked that our room had a floor length window that looked over the street - no noise problems as once closed the double glazing kept out all sounds.
Rennes is a great city with lots of young people and beautiful parks and flower gardens.
We would certainly recommend the Hotel de Nemours as a quality 2 star hotel and would return there when next we find ourselves in Rennes.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city - rue de Nemours is only for buses & bicycles, so the street noise is much less than you'd expect. Our room was a good comfortable size. Car parking is available nearby (Parking des Halles) - daytime parking is expensive, but overnight parking is quite reasonable & secure. Breakfast suited the hotel well - a reasonable amount of options without being over the top, with a nice good fresh selection. Staff were excellent, very helpful (especially with trying to help find fuel during a fuel strike!).

This little hotel is just perfect! Really well located to visit the old city, and a walking distance from the train station. The rooms are really nice and comfortable. And it was very clean. Yes, they are small, but it doesn't fell like it. This hotel should be more than a 2 stars, and the price is way under is real value! And by the way, if you are i Rennes, don't miss Le Tire-Bouchon... walking distance from the hotel, it's amazing!

A friendly welcome, a comfortable room, a powerful shower, and an enjoyable breakfast. In short, everything I was expecting. Although our room overlooked the street, the double glazing meant that we weren't disturbed by any noise during the night. The air conditioning worked well (although for someone who's not used to such luxuries, it seemed a little noisy). I will definately be staying here again.
