This is an extremely basic hotel, only suitable for overnight business stays for those on a budget who can't find or affrod anywhere decent to stay - it's simply not geared up to anyone staying there for pleasure! The rooms are clean but very sparse with not even a picture on the walls or a comfy chair and amazingly no storage for clothes apart from a wall hangar with just a few coat hangars (when more were requested on several occasions the hotel said they didn't have any more!). The location is truly awful - set between busy and noisy dual caraigeways, with a sueprmarket carpark and tyre factory as your views. The outdoor swimming pool is verging on derelict and is completly unuseable with any safety. The food is absolutely appalling.

When we arrived they had no record of our internet booking, luckily we had the printout. They were trying to put us into a lesser room, but when we made it clear this would not be acceptable we got a good upgrade at the same price as it was clearly their mistake. The beds were ok, one pillow per person, noisy maid service, difficult to get anyone in the bar when you wanted a morning coffee, no tea./coffee in the room. We booked a taxi as it is not an easy walk into town, you have to walk along the verge of a motorway for a while! The taxi didn't turn up, and the receptionist seemed to think that was that. As we were attending wedding, we made a fuss. All taxi firms were too busy, so a member of the kitchen staff took us, which was helpful, The bill contained over a hundred euros of services we hadn't had and we had to get it corrected. Not a great experience.

Although I have no complaints regarding the rooms which we're very clean its the attitude of the staff, particulalry the manager and the appaling manner in which we were treated that was the problem.

I was part of a wedding party of 12 who were booked in for a 4 day stay. Basically on the third morning of the visit I received a call from the manager demanding that all the party attend a meeting in reception as she had received a complaint regarding noise from a room under our name. I should point out that at the time in question there were 3 girls in the room talking and in no way making any excess noise

At this meeting she attempted to remove the entire wedding party from the hotel! When it was made clear that this was unacceptable she compromised by demanding we all move down to rooms adjoining the reception!!

We agreed to do this, on checking out of the hotel after our stay the manager brought myself and my girlfriend back into the room and claimed that we had damaged a desk! Now when I say damaged the wood on the desk it was an inch long strip of wood seemed somewhat lighter than the rest of the desk, but it had actually been like that when we moved into the room as I had commented on it.

She then proceeded to tell us that she would have to have the desk repaired and that she would bill us for the damage! The manner in which she spoke to both of us was terrible and her attitude is appalling. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and she was by far the worst manager I have ever met.

Aisde from this there is no bar of note in the hotel and the cleaners interfere far too much with you personal belongings. The hotel is also a 20 minute walk from Quimper and there are better hotels in the town.

DO NOT STAY HERE

If you are looking just for a very basic accommodation in the city centre of Quimper, Oceania Quimper will probably not disappoint you. However, here are some of the shortcomings that we discovered during our recent visit.
1. Noisy Street
2. No working air conditioning
3. Dark rooms - lack of proper lighting
4. Worn-out bed
For this Motel-style accomodation, the value for money that you get is actually quite poor.
