We are often in Dinard, and often passed by this little hotel. We even saw it when they renovated.
Judging by the outside we knew it would be at least a good hotel, but the surprise was how tastefully the rooms and floors are done.

Each room is different , different furnishings, different themes, yet in a common theme per floor. We had a tour of the hotel, the staff is extremely friendly , service of a 5 star hotel in fact.

Our room was on the street side, and it was at street level , or slightly above. The price was very low, so we didn't expect more. At full price though the ground floor would be less than ideal as traffic and people walking by is a bother.

The room had the most wonderful setting, and it was so clean it felt like we had built it for ourselves. Spotless, truly, and we are very demanding in that respect.

The meeting area and new veranda area is wonderful . It is in a retro glass covered bay area with amazing light, and sea view. New sports facilities, and spa downstairs, all impeccable.

The suite on the top floor is the type of suite you expect to see in design or architecture magazines, view , light, volume.

Love to go back!

Booked here a room for one night, hoping the reviews weren't accurate. We were bitterly dissapointed! Already at the corridors, with loud music playing and big "modern" numbers at the doors, you get a premonition of what is to come. The supposedly deluxe room, which costed more than 280 Euros (!!!) was as small as it gets, with a ridiculously small bed, and a joke of a bathroom, a wooden contraption made up to cover for the fact that they didn't have enough space to build a real room, that allows your partner to see and hear everything you do. On top of that the noise from the street was loud and clear. All in all it was sheer melancholy. We didn't let this room ruin our holidays. Although we had paid for it (a huge loss, over which we still cry) we left and went to the Grand Hotel Barriere which was much superior and (believe it or not) cheaper, at 250 Euros per night!! Don't make the same mistake. P.S. The few good things: a) the staff at the reception, which was friendly and helpful, b) the location, c) the cafe "Le Darling" which was super.

An attractive and interesting hotel. The staff were excellent at the time of our visit and the de-luxe room was pristine and atmospheric .
The breakfast was good and we were served politely and with care and courtesy.
Overall, stayingat the Mercure Royal Emeraude was a highly enjoyable experience.

My room at the Royal Emeraude was small but perfectly formed. Nice design furniture, a comfortable bed and a very clean bathroom. The staff were also very polite and helpful, I wish I had spent my entire stay there.

I can't speak for all the other rooms, but one negative... In mine, you had to hold the shower head in your hand if you wanted an all over shower.

It's a very contemporary bathroom with modern features, so I'm not sure why they didn't add a little holder for the shower head... very odd!

Breakfast was not included and it cost something like €19 or there about. In my view, every hotel in the world should include tea or coffee and a croissant/pastry in the price of the room. If anyone requires more then they can charge whatever they want.
