“Beside the seaside, beside the sea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

We spent two days at the Printania and enjoyed every minute. We had a room with a terrace almost at sea level and our relations had a room at the top. Both gave wonderful views across the estuary. The top room with panoramic windows and the bottom room only yards from the water. Breakfast was in the ferny conservatory.
The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. Don't be put off by the hotel front. Inside boasts glorious turn-of-the-century features, including magnificent brass-studded furniture.
Give the car a rest and take the frequent ferry across to St Malo.
We dined next door at Le Passerelle and were not disappointed.
A good place to stay.

Room Tip: Getting to your room can involve a hike up and down stairs.

“Great hotel of characture with friendly staff!”

We have just spent three wonderful nights in this characterful hotel and have enjoyed every minute! The sea views and balconies catching the sunrise are a delight. The staff are helpful, friendly and attentive and cope well with atrocious french being tried... Breakfast is a feast taken whilst gawping out of the enormous conservatory windows to the ever changing harbour and sea activities, small talk really isn't required with views like this! The dinner is good if a trifle formal but faultlessly presented. The hotels position is perfect for rambling in various directions to stunning beaches and headlands without exhausting ones self too much. A regular small boat plies from close to the hotel to St Malo, a walled coastal town well worth exploring. We wouldn't hesitate to return to such a gem!

Room Tip: Be patient with the hot water... it will come in the end!

“Wonderful small hotel with unique character, great views and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

We found this hotel by chance when looking for a place to stop for the night in the area. There were two rooms available and we chose one on the first floor overlooking the harbour with a small balcony. It was very comfortable and with French doors opening onto the balcony, we were able to see the tide go in and out, the moon rise and the sun rise in the morning. The reception was exceedingly friendly and helpful and the fact that she was more than willing to help us out in English was appreciated. The food was excellent - both the fresh seafood at dinner and the breakfast buffet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone looking for a lovely, relaxing and unique place to stop in a busy area of France.

“Great Sea Views, Friendly Check-in but Quite Expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

We hadn't booked this hotel and just turned up on the off-chance. Luckily they had two rooms available in one of their properties along the same road. The lady of reception was extremely helpful and friendly and having lived in the UK spoke perfect English. The room slept 5 people although there was just three of us (2 adults and a 8 year old). I think it would have been a little cosy with any more of us. The room was fairly large and decorated in a traditional way with lots of wood, a table and chair, a great wooden French "bunk-bed" the bottom half all enclosed, so fantastic for a little boys sense of adventure, plus two other beds and balcony looking out to the harbour with restaurants underneath. The bathroom needed updating and was quite small and dark. All in all a lovely location with friendly service but a little over-priced in our opinion. We also ate in the main hotel's restuarant which was incredibly expensive but again had the view over the harbour.

“Very charming hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2010

Was just passing by in Dinard, needed a place to sleep. We found this hotel recommended in a tour guide. It was so good and charming so we decided to stay for two nights instead of one. Old house, big comfortable bed and a vu over the water in the English Channel. The hotel had an very good breakfast, the food in the restaurant was also very good and the staff was extremely nice.
