We had great difficulty finding the place. As an earlier reviewer mentioned the sign is very small, but when we were there the shop that is below it was shut (permanently closed), so we went passed it a few times.
We stayed in the Parure room: a very pleasant large front room with enormous bathroom and balcony out back. Breakfast was served in the dining room and was not as described by an earlier reviewer. It was a typical French breakfast with croissants, , toast, brioche, yoghurt, fruit, and jams. We had no complaints. The room was clean, well serviced and good value at 60 euro per night.
Our hostess tried valiantly to communicate with us in English and we tried our very amateurish French. With lots of miming and gesticulations and the common ground of photos and brochures we received some excellent advice about driving times, markets and some resturants.
Dinan is a delightful town, with the old centre with half timbered buildings and narrow laneways, only a very short stroll away. Our stay was three days and we managed to drive out and about as well as spend lots of time exploring the streets and alleyways. Don't miss out on the old Port of Dinan: we managed to catch the last cruise up the river to Lehon. It is a lovely cruise with interesting commentary on the history of the area.
We thought parking may be a problem as it is within the city limits but with a bit of creativity we managed to stay within parking zones and meters for minimum fees.
There is a plethera of cafes and restuarants in nearby streets and a patisserie across the road. Boules was being played by local gentleman in a nearby park which added to the local colour. The B & B is situated one floor up from the street and the rooms are above that, so if you have problems with mobility that may not be the place for you.
