“Well at least I felt young coming here!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

I feel sorry for this hotel because although it is an ok hotel, it has so much potential! It is full of old people and we were the youngest. There are no other children here. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and the kids loved it but I would feel self conscious if it was full. We swam at about 6 pm when others had left.

The hotel smells like an old people's home mixed with a smokers den!

But although I have been a bit harsh, it really is an ok hotel. It is a great location and the breakfast is nice.

We would come back as it is ok for the price.

“Depressing, outdated relic of the past”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

Presumably, having landed in Vichy, one is either lost or on the way back to Calais, but this place should still be avoided even for a one night stop over. Very rude staff, decor from a sad seventies motel, and a general feeling of being in a sanitorium (certainly not the spa it professes to be).

“Badly needs refurbished”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2009

We stayed here for one night, after vising the tourist office. The rooms are hugely in need of upgrade. It was perfectly clean and we slept comfortably, but the decor and furnishings are terribly outdated. What this hotel does have in its favour is the location and car park. This is satisfactory for an evening stopover, but if coming back, I would probably look to stay somewhere else. I'm sure there must be better quality hotels in Vichy with private parking.

“fine hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2009

This hotel was fine but nothing special. It was right next to a spa, but the services were very expensive so I didn't use them. The front desk staff was friendly and most of them spoke English when necessary. The lobby is bright and cheerful and the bar is open until 11:30 p.m. (I think.) The breakfast was a buffet/continental....many choices but nothing hearty like eggs. The breakfast buffet was served in the restaurant, so I'm sure you could have ordered something if you wanted. The breakfast was E12 per person, and didn't seem worth it to me, so we ended up going to the Monoprix (a store in town) and getting breakfast food to bring back. Overall it was a fine stay.

“Avoid this hotel - rooms tired, badly designed and poorly maintained”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2009

We stayed for one night travelling back from the south of France. Recommended by the tourist office in Vichy as we wanted a three star central hotel with its own parking. Given a room on the top floor - garden view - in reality the car park - where we found the loo had a leak onto the floor, the bath was chipped, cigarette burn in the bedspread, chipped panels on the (very dated) room fittings and pillows like rocks. Nowhere near a three star, but we were too tired to complain on arrival. Given a discount the next morning, but altogether a bad experience. Vichy itself looked lovely and well worth a stopover, but not here!
