The good things first: the room is clean, functional and at a good location in the centre of the town. The staff was friendly.ABut even though it is now part of the accorhotels and changing its name to adagio access, the hotel is rather run down. The style is very, let's say pure and certainly not charming. Some warm colors, pictures, a nicer blanket and lighting could really make a difference. Somehow it felt like jail: small and charmeless. However, I must say, this was the fourth hotel in Clermont I stayed at. None of the other ones was much better.

I booked through Internet at Citéa in Clermont Ferrand and got the confirmation for their Hotel in Aix-en-Provence. I immediately called (around 10pm) neither Hotel answered until next morning. To an E-mail message I did not receive an answer. Due to heavy road construction in Clermont, the Hotel is extremely difficult to find. I received their e-mail instructions ONE day later. Lost one hour to find it.

Rooms relatively clean, noisy fridge. Reception incompetent and unfriendly. Breakfast served all out of boxes and cans. Stay away from this place.

We visited Clermont for the Tigers vs Clermont rugby game. We wanted some self catering option in order to reduce the meal spend (bfast and lunch self catered saved some euro's). The room smelt very strobngly of stale cigarettes and was not particularly clean. Car parking was also extra. Location quite good. The super market underneath was a bonus.
Clermont is a good city to visit, the Rugby fans were fantastic and very hospitable, but I would not recommend this hotel

This hotel is not easy to find since it is above a Champion supermarket right next to Place Jaude in the centre of town. Location is good with lots of shopping and dining possibilities in easy walking distance. The university is also not far away.
However, don't expect a romantic hideawy in the old part of Clermont-Ferrand - this is a hotel where you just go to sleep and leave your luggage, nothing more, but also nothing less. The rooms are simple but functional with a little kitchenette and a very simple bathroom. A great plus is the wireless internet connection - ask at the reception for a free access code. Cleanliness in my room was average; breakfast is simple but included in the room rate which is the real unbeatable plus of this hotel. There will not be many others with such a good rate in a similarly central location.
