We like Kyriads in general but this was very poor and certainly not good value at €78.
The evening recepionist was very 'snappy', probably because she was running a busy hotel on her own. However her refusal to provide an extra pillow for my wife came as a bit of a surprise. Fortunately my wife speaks French and after a 'barny' in the reception, much to the amusement of other guests who were sympathetic to our request, she reluctantly left the desk and returned with a pillow.
The room was freshly decorated with a new carpet, but very small, i.e. a single with an extra bed shoved in. The bathroom was designed by 'Boeing'!
Dinner selection was bought in 'chilled' factory food but adequate. At breakfast, the buffet was sufficient but there was no tray-run to rest your tray while helping yourself!
The dinning area was pre-set for dinner, cordoned off and a side room with 10 tables was in use by about 40+ guests. Also with the dinning area cordoned off, access to and from the reception was via the breakfast buffet. Accidents I guess are a daily occurance!

Had a very comfortable stay considering it was a last minute booking. Traveling with a family of 4 and they could accommodate us in a single room which was great. It was on the top floor (no elevator) which made it perhaps the 4th floor? Room was smallish but worked. Two twin beds and a king/twins-pushed-together. Very comfy bed and pillows (and we're unusually picky in this area!) Bathroom small but very clean. Small flat screen TV could be seen from the large bed. Free WiFi was a serious bonus but one had to sign-up for it which meant giving out an email address, etc. Breakfast was 8 Euros per adult but no charge for the children which made it a 4 Euro/per person charge -- very appealing. Decent assortment of breads, cereals, beverages including fresh-squeezed orange juice which is always a treat. The only negative was that it was extraordinarily hard to find initially as well as to come back to after a dinner in the old town part of Clermont. We had a map but it proved useless.

Although this hotel is right by the A71 motorway and near the airport runway the room was absolutely quiet. Looked like the windows were triple glazed, and it would appear that this is not a particularly busy airport. 2 single beds pushed together to make a double, but very comfortable and good quality bed linen. Tea and coffe in the room (basic, with plastic cups). 3 floors, no lift.
You can see the hotel from the flyover as you approach the motorway junction; it is on the edge of Clermont Ferrand in an area of business low-rise office blocks. A large Leclerc hypermarket and petrol station is 2 minutes drive away towards the town centre (ask the hotel desk for directions).
Very clean restaurant and breakfast areas, with good choice of dinner menu, limited offerings for breakfast but good quality and well presented. Serve yourself starters and desserts buffet menu for dinner were astonishing value.
The drive down the autoroute from here to the Millau viaduct must be one of the most beautiful in France.
