Stayed one Saturday night only. Superb rooms One overlooking the bay, Room service second to none & food better than some high end hotels in London.

The General Manager welcomed us & showed us to our rooms, explaining all the facilities it had to offer.

The following day he happily showed us the Spa & a suite with a private pool overlooking that wonderful bay.

Nothing was too much trouble here. We will return.

We spent 2 nights at the Grand Hotel and had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Saint Jean de Luz and surrounding areas. The reception staff and concierge were helpful throughout the stay. Our room was a street view, standard and although we lacked a 'room with a view' it was clean, very well furnished and thoughtfully designed. The only down point was that on the first night we came back to the hotel on a rather stormy night to find a note on the door to say 'back in 5 minutes', unfortunately it was 25 minutes! I did vent my frustration when the porter eventually returned (with his food) and mentioned to morning reception staff who were apologetic - this took the edge off the service.

Yes, it's not the cheapest hotel around but if you're prepared to pay for quaslity then this hotel is a good choice.

This is really as grand in style as the name suggests but its modest size makes it somewhere that you feel at home and the friendly but courteous staff look after you very well. Everything about the hotel exudes quality and it feels very well cared for. We stayed in a Rhune view room which was cosy and as it was on a corner had plenty of windows and a bit of a sea view. The bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is located directly on the beach at the north end of the main beach, which is reasonably quiet and has good views across the bay. The elegant restaurant has a lovely terrace facing the beach and is a great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Michelin-starred food is sublime, but very expensive! There is a lovely spa downstairs with a great seawater pool which has a jacuzzi area and a window on to the beach. Perfect for a relaxing break.

The location of this hotel and the spa are really great, unfortunatly the service is NOT!

The rooms are small, the room service is horribly slow (30 minutes waiting time)
At the beatiful spa no suggestions are done, poor service treatment
Illegitimate charges on the bill, ... nobody apologize for it ... ...
The one Michelin star chef has left, the restaurant experience is not the same as before

Honestly I really expected more professionalism and hospitality services.
