Walked in off the street on the strength of a Lonely Planet listing, not having read previous Trip Advisor reviews.
Briefly, the hotel is relatively cheap, well positioned, and has ample parking around the square where it stands.
However it was the only place we stayed in France this time where we experienced positively rude treatment from the chap at the front desk. It was also the only place where we stayed where the cleaning of the room was inadequate.
Breakfast was the absolute French minimum, somewhat enlivened by a staff meeting in the breakfast room, while we were eating.
I have stayed before in small hotels that have a positive listing in Lonely Planet, and their common problem seems to be that they stop trying to please their visitors. I assume that this place will continue to get worse until word gets round to avoid it, then it will
be sold and the new management will have to regain their lost position.
For the time being my advice would be to avoid Le Postillion.
