We stayed here a few nights as part of a two-week tour of Southern France. The amazing, lush property is a renovated traditional country farm compound located very near (~1-mile) the town of Les Eyzies and just next to an ancient church. It includes expansive, picturesque grounds with many tables and out-buildings (and a nice pool, which we did not get a chance to try) for lounging and relaxation. The main buldings are spacious, including a large common area for breakfasts and relaxation. All the areas are nicely decorated in artful/country style.
Our room was located on the second floor overlooking the river valley. It was good size, full of charming appointments, and had lovely original wood beams and antique furniture. The mornings waking up to the sound of church bells and animal sounds from the misty valley were unforgettable.
The place has a magical rustic charm (yet in a very liveable way) that is hard to beat. It seems remote and private, yet it is close to the many activities of the area. The owners (who live in the main farm house) are very nice and accommodating people.
It was a bit of a surprise to find that the property is just across the road from a train line. However, this was really not a problem and should not concern anyone thinking of staying here. The light rail trains are quiet and infrequent.
