We stayed at the Laminak for the 3rd time in 4 years en route from Portugal to the Netherlands - it is a really welcoming small family hotel - delicious home food served after a busy day on the road is just what is needed! Very comfortable homely rooms with all mod cons and lovely lounge for guests makes for a very relaxing stay. Very dog-friendly - our labrador ran inside when we arrived as if it was home! The owners are delightful with an excellent sense of humour in several languages.

Lovely hotel more like a bed and breakfast place though .Lovely breakfast served up in the mornings .However no restraunt only breakfast room ,so no restraunt facilities for rest of day.
Owners very nice peopleand really helpful.Would need a car though Biarritiz is ten minute drive.No lift and is really not suitable for children.We really enjoyed our stay here.

Agree with the comments above. We booked there because the hotel's website says that it is 5 minutes from Biarritz train station but when we got there we realised that they meant by car which was not clear (not many people I know bring their car along on the train with them...). The hotel is just outside Arbonne, a tiny village with nothing to see or do and only one unappealing restaurant. There is no public transport from Arbonne. To try and cut the cost of transport we decided to hang out around the hotel's garden during the day and only travel in to Biarrtitz for the evening so we bought some provisions from the local shop. When we tried to eat them there the hotel owner announced that we were not permitted to make a picnic in the garden - despite the fact that they do not serve lunch themselves. Accordingly we spent around 150 euros on cabs in three days. Never again...

Clean and quiet. Host speaks good English.Rooms not particularly charming. Fine if you have your own transport, but around a 14€ taxi journey from Biarritz (assuming you made two return trips a day for the beach and the evening you'd almost spend the room price on cabs again).
