large rooms with high ceilings - 'old' style. peculiar lobby and interior - i would have thought more french american than french. free parking - free wifi - quiet and worthwhile aircon and nice quiet rooms overlooking the golf course. had great sleep. Stayed for a week. The place is dated though. We got a E100 a night rate by booking in advance which is really good for the hotel and proxiity to town and beach. it is a great town to visit, you can easily walk there and back in the evenings even if there is a bit of a hill. any you get great sunsets. the outside pool has comfy loungers and is sheltered from the wind which as you will find out it important. the place is in need of refurbishment on the whole but that said there were people staying who were driving rolls royce phantoms when we were there so maybe its justy the E100 a night rooms! bathroom fine and basic. pool not large. wouldnt bring a young family here given pool size. for couples and adults definitely. didnt get any treatments, didnt play golf, just ate, wandered, and sunned ourselves. didnt get breakfast or food in the hotel - always went into town or to a local pattisserie. sometimes brought food back and put in the fridge in the room. a massive plus! love biarritz!

Stayed three nights at the Biarritz Mercure Thalasso in September. Hotel is of the grand Edwardian type, completely modernised around a splendid atrium. Rooms comfortable and quiet. Fabulous breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff who do everything possible to make your stay a good one. I don´t golf but they have a reasonable looking course adjacent to the hotel. The main point of staying here is of course the access to the spa, which is in the sister hotel (Sofitel) five minutes walk away. If you like the idea of being enveloped in seewead cream and then being washed down with sea water by purring French ladies of a certain age, this is the place for you. Free and ample parking at the hotel, unlike in the centre of Biarritz. Hotel car will deliver you almost anywhere central but you might prefer a 15 minute walk. Masses of upmarket shops in town, loads of restaurants and brasseries. Don´t miss the old port area and a sidetrip to the charming village of Saint Jean de Luz.

This hotel needs upgrading! The room we had was smelly with a very stained carpet and stains on the chairs. Considering the price it is not good quality for the money.
The staff were friendly and breakfast was good and plentiful. There is free wi-fi and parking on site. There is a pool area which is nice. Long way from town but during the week there is a bus service.
