Hotel facilities - bar is quiet and at the reception so it's more of a foyer and not much atmosphere. Terrace is lovely but seems to be outside two rooms so not sure what the arrangement is there. WiFi is free all over the hotel, including in rooms, plus there's a pc to use in the foyer. TV is great and has BBC World and CNN. There's also a baggage area where you can leave your bags after checking out, which is free.
Staff - really lovely and friendly.
Room - really clean and comfortable, nicely decorated. The air con was slightly noisy but we slept okay. The toilet in our room (room 101) was in a separate room to the bath/sink room and didn't have a fan or a window. That bathroom was lovely but the shower was really low and placed so it was a bit cramped. Also the shower door didn't cover enough so the floor always got soaked. The bathroom was really clean with lovely towels and nicely decorated - looks like it was done up recently. From our balcony, you could see the sea to the right, which was lovely. Our room was on the 1st floor right over the street, though once the doors to the balcony were closed, it was quiet enough, plus although it's on a busy street, it's at the quiet end. We saw other hotels that were right over bars playing really loud music.
Location - really near to a lovely beach and also centrally located so really ideally located. Just outside the door, you have the loads of cafes, bars & shops. For a nice breakfast, there's a place called the Royal something that does a nice continental breakfast outside with great service for only €6.80 although be warned that if you get another coffee it's €4. Breakfast in the hotel is €12.50, so we went out instead and so I can't say which is better.
Parking - there's none in the hotel but there is a carpark nearby if you can navigate the narrow one-way streets and find it. We ended up parking miles away. Definitely get a map with carparks marked so you don't have the stressful time we had when we arrived.
Value - we paid €180 for 1 night and booked last minute (2 days before). It is over-priced but it seems like all the hotels are over-priced in Biarritz.
Room Tip: The higher the better as you're away from the street but make sure you get a balcony.
