Our first (bad) surprise was that the hotel website is out of date - the private parking facilities are no longer available, so we had to park in the public underground car park, which isn't too far away (if you don't have a lot of heavy luggage). The hotel foyer was inviting, but that was as far as things went : the unsmiling receptionist just gave us our key and told us where the lift was, all the other information (breakfast time etc) we had to ask for. The decoration throughout the hotel was greatly in need of being redone - paint flaking on the window frames and worn carpets. We also had to ask for the right number of towels because they only put out enough for one person. The lift was absolutely minute (2 people with 1 bag each and it was a tight squeeze). One good thing is that breakfast is served right up to midday, but the coffee is terrible. We had intended staying for 2 nights, but we left after only 1.
