“Basic hotel, good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

The hotel was situated outside the central area of Bordeaux city, the suburb location was a hive of student residences and neighbourhood bistro's and within 5 minutes walk from the tram stop 'hotel de police'. The room was medium sized, clean and tidy, with a large balcony, kitchenette and en-suite bathroom. The kitchenette was complete with a two ring stove top, microwave, plates, cutlery and cooking utensils, sink and draining board. The en-suite bathroom was modern, clean and hygienic. The room had a TV and free Wi-Fi connections to the internet. The staff were friendly and helpful and allowed us to store our luggage behind the reception area as we arrived long before our check-in time. There is a 'Carrefour City' grocery shop within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, this combined with the kitchenette and some wonderfully fresh vegetables, cheese and charcuterie from the local market allowed us to self-cater for both our nights stay in Bordeaux. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Bordeaux on a limited budget and who appreciate clean modern hotel rooms.

“Basic hotel, reasonable location, friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We knew this hotel was a bit out of the way when we booked but it catered for our extended family very well (inc. disabled access). Plenty of car parking (luxury in Bordeaux), modest rooms, friendly staff - check in was fab with great service.

Room Tip: Ask for a room NOT overlooking the street

“Great location, basic accomodation but the pool makes up for it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

I stayed at Citea Bordeaux recently and found it in a nice safe location, not far from the main area (also tram and bus services if you're feeling lazy!). The swimming pool is set in a quier location very relaxing and a short walk from the hotel. The room was very basic, with single bed, kitchenette, bathroom (with the smallest bath I'd ever seen - but not needed!). The only down side, the breakfast is convenient but not really worth 7.5 Euro, if you're able to get the shop it would make it more economical. Also I booked via bookings.com and the booking I made meant no cleaning during my stay, this was a littel offputting, especially when I met someone who'd paid less but with cleaning. The location and swimming pool made up for that though. Just be careful when booking!Would definately revisit due to the location and amenities.

“Great kitchenette, ok location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2011

Good value for money.
Very friendly reception staff who spoke English as soon as they realised we weren't locals. Location is a bit out of the way - not really close to anything but in Bordeaux as long as you're near the tram (about 5 minutes walk) then everything is easy to get to. There's a little supermarket also 5 minutes away, which was really useful as there was a little kitchenette in the room with microwave, stove top, fridge, and a few basic utensils (but no washing up liquid/sponge - and they charge you if you want them to clean the dishes).
Free wi-fi worked really well - they even let us use it when we arrived early for check-in.
Would stay here again if in Bordeaux.

“Don't stay here!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2011 via mobile

I wouldn't even grant this hotel a rating. It was terrible on all accounts.
The reception staff were the only nice thing to comment on. Very helpful & understanding. They clearly knew how bad this hotel was.
We booked 2 nights here last minute after having our flight cancelled.
From the moment we stepped inside the room we knew it was a wrong decision!
The room was in a state on disrepair. Dirty walls, surfaces & carpets. Pubic hairs on the bed covers.
In the bathroom there was an extremely dirty shower curtain in a bath tub only big enough for a child.
Drawers missing from the in room desk.
I could go on........
We stayed a mere 45mins in this hotel whilst we searched the Internet for something else.
Having had such an amazing stay in the Dordogne region. This experience has definitely soured the end of our trip

Avoid this hotel if you have any standards.
