This is a small, boutique type of hotel located in the main historic downtown area of Bordeaux, with walking distance to the historic theater and restaurant area. Tram B is also just a few blocks away. Upon arrival, it appeared the lobby was just about finished with a renovation. The rooms had newer furniture and a modern look. Desk people spoke English and were helpful. From the train station, taxi is the easist option and cost about 10 Euros. Otherwise, you can take tram C and transfer to tram B; then walk about 4 blocks to the hotel. Our room was on the top floor, with skylight windows, and was quiet. Breakfast was included and very good, with full variety of breads, meats, cheese and cereal. We paid 116 euro for a two twin room.

On the positive side, the hotel had a good location for seeing the city of Bordeaux and close to transportation. Also the staff were very pleasant. On the not so positive side, the room was very noisy, the carpet was filthy, and the bathroom was not clean either. We were on the first floor, which is 4 flights of stairs up a narrow staircase and during our visit the elevator was not working. The front desk staff offered to allow us to leave our bags with him and he would have them delivered to our rooms but we prefer to keep our bags secure so we lugged them up the steps!! I'd hate to be on a higher floor. We didnt take advantage of breakfast (included) which was available on the 4th floor because we felt we could get better food elsewhere. Our room overlooked the busy Georges Clemenceau and it was very noisy and difficult to sleep. I would not stay here again.

This place is overpriced and with hardly enough room to swing a cat. The only good thing that we had to say about it was it's central location. The staff were generally unhelpful - I.e. We asked for suggestions for dinner venues only to be told that they could not help us (!) find somewhere else if you can.

Great Location, bit noisey at night........... well its in the city center,.... nice rooms, very friendly staff. great for a weekend stay.
