“good hotel for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We booked this hotel because of a really cheap deal on booking.com. It was fine. We had a triple and a double room. The double was very small with an even smaller bathroom but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The triple was better. It was exactly opposite Bordeaux train station which meant it was quite noisy and you could hear trams and people dragging their cases over the cobbles well into the night. Breakfast was quite nice and the staff were very friendly. The receptionist even gave us free breakfasts for the children because it was Christmas!

Room Tip: triple is larger

Dear Madam,

I thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your impression on your stay in our hotel, and we are glad you were happy with your stay.

It's true we propose from time to time flash booking deals with very interesting rates on low season periods, please do contact us directly for any detail regarding this matter.

As you wrote, some of our rooms can be small, our hotel being an historical building, and the rooms following the architecture of this XIXth century typical construction.
Standard double rooms are approximatively of 12 m2 and triple rooms around 22 m2, so it is true that the triple are larger rooms.

You stayed in our hotel on the 22nd of december which is just the rush time of great departure for chritsmas holidays, the TGV station welcoming a lot of customers, so it might have been more busy and and noisy than usual.
All our rooms are however equipped with double glazing windows for customers serenity.

I am glad to read that your welcoming was friendly and that you appreciated the breakfast offer for your children.

If you ever intend to have another stay in our wonderful city, please do contact us so as we can organise your stay as nicely as possible.
Kind regards and all my wishes for this new year 2012 to you and your family!

Esther Capdevielle

“Average but value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

As long as you don't want to turn around in the shower.(which is very small!)..I was there 4 nights in November,
Clean and well tended. Wifi OK. Rooms are small, but this is France, and it is an inner city building. Accross from the Train station and Tram terminal, but very quiet.
Breakfast adequate.

“One of My Best Trip in Europe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

The hotel has a perfect location, just in front of the train station. It's easy to go to city center by tram, also convenient for those going to nearby cities e.g. Arcachon or St. Emilion. After check-out you can store your luggage in the hotel, and enjoy the last day in the beautiful city of Bordeaux. The staffs are very nice, and most of them speak good English. The room is big enough and very clean (cleaned daily), and the bathroom is well refurbished. For the breakfast, I think there's no point to pay 7.5 EUR for it, since there are bakeries nearby. We got a promotion price, thus it's even cheaper than the 10-bed hostel in Amsterdam. I really recommend this place.

“Right next to the Train station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

Right across from the station wich is a nice view of a busy street. Can be a bit noisy during the daytime streetside. Fairly large hotel, lift, free wifi, good continental breakfast, friendly staff and clean.
My room had a nice view of the street, was clean, modern furnishings, TV, comfy bed, fair size, modern bathroom, small desk and wifi.
Although you are right next to the station, most attractions will require you to hop a tram which has stops just outside hotel.
The place was secure, clean, and well kept. A few good places to eat on the same block too. All and all good for any type of traveller

“Small room and noisy street”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011 via mobile

I was there during the vinexpo trade fair which is a very crowded time to be in Bordeaux and Hotel are fully booked in that week. Thus it may be that in other time of the year this hotel may results quite different in some aspects. Rooms are small bath is lad and small. Breakfast is really terrible and common spaces in the hotel smells a lot. People in the streets in front of the hotel made a lot of noise all night long and some homeless where sleeping right in front of the hotel door on the main train station side. People at the reception are very nice but this doesn't help to forgot the rest!
