We stayed in this hotel on our honeymoon in October 2011.
I must admit, the ability to get in on a late train, cross the street to your hotel and collapse in bed wins this hotel points from me. The rooms were quite nice and modern, with comfortable beds. We stayed in a corner room, and though the room was small, the way it was laid out made it feel very comfortable. Bathrooms are small, but modern as well (though we did soak the bathroom when we showered). It's a very nice hotel for a very good price.
As for location - you're right across the street from the train station and very close to the tram to take you to the center of town. The neighbourhood that the hotel is in doesn't seem so good and I wouldn't recommend walking to the center of town - not that it's far - we did it once and didn't walk it again because you have to walk through a less desirable area of town. The tram is inexpensive and a nice way to travel, so I would definitely recommend it. There are a few restaurants right across the street from the train station, but we didn't have good luck with them (food wasn't great).
If you want to stay in the center of Bordeaux, don't stay here, but if you want something nice, inexpensive, and near the tram and the train, this is the hotel for you!
We really enjoyed our stay here!
