The "hotel parking" is actually in a public garage down the block. There are approximately 60 stairs you have to carry your luggage/stroller/etc. up and down to get from the parking garage to the hotel reception. No elevator and no luggage ramps. Not enough room in front of the hotel to park briefly and drop luggage -- it's only one space and usually full. The hotel is on a major road so double parking briefly is not possible.
Additionally, the signage from the parking garage to the hotel is misleading at best and generally missing (why doesn't Novotel fix that?), so it's hard to find the hotel if you park where the garage advises "Novotel" parking. I climbed three or four extra flights trying to find the entrance when I first arrived -- carrying 50 lbs of luggage. When I asked reception if there is a better route, I got only a bored shrug and assurance that the stairs are the only way. Extraordinarily difficult to stay here if you have a car.
Only advantage is that it's near a tram stop if you're heading into downtown Bordeaux. But the hotel's website indication that the hotel has parking is highly misleading. If the hotel had not been prepaid, I would have cancelled the reservation and gone elsewhere.
