Stayed in 4-bed female dorm for 3 nights. Room, on top-most floor, was clean, although two of the ceiling and wall lamps were faulty. Reception staff was quite unsympathetic when told of the problem, although ultimately repairs were effected.
Hostel appeared to cater to large groups, especially students, which kept to themselves.
Thus little opportunity to mingle with fellow travellers , but this should not discourage you if your main concern is just to have decent lodging.

The hostel is situated 10 mins walk away from the city centre. it is the perfect location, quiet and central. the hostel itself is big, bright and modern. Each room has its own shower and toilet which is always a bonus. it is very clean and the staff are very friendly. They have disco and crepes evenings which is great if you have a school group to entertain.

The only hostel I've ever stayed in with a bathroom in the room, which was a definite plus. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet at night. However, the food was not good and the people serving in the evening were extremely grumpy. The pasta was stone cold and the bread rolls in the morning were rock hard, obviously just out of the freezer. Also you were only allowed one cold/hot drink and under no circumstances could you refill, unlike anywhere else I've ever stayed in, including hostels. They sell both postcards and stamps (both domestic and international) which is fabulous considering French post offices' tendency to close whenever they feel like it and for most of the afternoon. I'd stay here again no problem if on a budget or as part of a large group. Eat elsewhere whatever you do.

Our family four stayed just before Christmas 2010 to see Strasbourg in all it's Christmas finery. We stayed in a 4 bed room with ensuite (shower toilet etc).
We were able to park around the back but parking is limited and can not be promised.
Easiy walk into town centre. Room small, clean, beds could do with upgrade, lots of space to hang things and shelves, 4 bags tend to fill up the floor space. B'fast was included and basic but very good. Wifi for fee. Very helpful staff. A very well run hostel.
