“Friendly staff, great location, good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We got a fantastic deal under €100 for a beautiful room with a view to the Altstadt church in the distance. The bed was super comfortable and the room itself quite substantial. The breakfast buffet was well above average with plenty of juices, breads and typical bacon/sausage/pancakes type offerings. The staff were very helpful and friendly and it's well located for a nice walk to the Altstadt, passing through a park and other more modern buildings. I made a stupid mistake and left a suit bag in the armoire with my suit and tie I had along for a wedding. Strasbourg was the BEGINNING of our trip, fortunately, and the wedding wasn't for nearly 3 weeks. We called hoping the Hilton staff could mail it to the wedding destination near Paris. It was too late, the cleaning staff had left, but they called me the next day to say that they had handled it. My suit and tie were waiting for me near Paris, and I very much appreciate Hilton's efforts.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floors with a view to the church

“Very comfortable - rather expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

The Hilton is very comfortable: the room was good-sized, though the TV was not flat-screen. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. There is no swimming pool. During the one week a month when the European Parliament meets in Strasbourg, prices are very high. From the Monday evening before the EP arrived to the Tuesday when it had, the price of the very same dinner buffet rose from €27 to €34, an overnight increase of 26%. The hotel is within a 15 minute walk of the EP and 25 to the cathedral in the center of the city.

Thank you very much for your recent stay at the Hilton Strasbourg. Guest feedback is a valuable tool and is one of the means by which we are able to ensure that our standards are maintained at the level that Hilton's guests have rightly come to expect. We have the pleasure to inform you that the TVs will be replaced by flat screans this year.
Concerning the prices of the rooms, our room rates vary depending on occupancy, and period. The food price does not vary: i.e. for breakfast you can choose between continental, buffet or brunch, and for lunch you have the choice between 2 dishes, 3 dishes, or La Carte. We sincerely hope that we have responded to your questions.
Sincerely yours.

“Overpriced, outdated, noisy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

This hotel makes use of the monopoly Strasbourg hotels have when the European Parliament is in session. Internet connection costs 25 euros; the coffee at breakfast is terrible; the rooms still have those 1980s televisions; the noise from the room next door (through the wooden connecting door) prevents you from sleeping.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the back, away from the sun.

“Rooms need a makeover . . . . not Hilton quality.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Reserved a New Year's package for our first visit to Strasbourg. Although the hotel is in a nice location with a Tram stop only a 5 minute walk away, it seems to be stuck in the past. The hotel rooms are outdated – with worn carpet and old TVs. We stayed on the Executive level and enjoyed the convenience of the snacks & drinks in the lounge down the hall – but even the furniture in the lounge had seen better days. The New Year’s package was very pricy – which made it shocking to have to also pay for parking,Internet, & drinks at dinner (even water). Wake up Hilton - take a hint from Marriott by providing free Internet to customers staying on the Executive level & add the simple extras such as parking & drinks when you advertise a holiday dinner package. The best part of the stay was the food. The New Year’s dinner was fabulous – our compliments to the Chef! Breakfast the next morning was good – but not on the same level as the night before. Overall the service at the front desk, bell man, and restaurant was good. Will probably try another hotel when we return to Strasbourg.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor on the south side - provides a better view of the city.

“Great value....”

Great room with great service. Problem was wi-fi is extra 10euros for an hour which is ridiculous. Also breakfast is 24euro per person. Location is pretty good 5 mins from a tram station. If you just want a room with no add ons this is great value but as soon as you start wanting more at the hilton you have to pay for it. Overall still great we just didn't want to pay that sort of money for extras
