“Great location, spacious rooms and courteous staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Front desk service was friendly and efficient at check in / check out. Check in is at 2pm and check out 12noon and I was able to store my luggage after checking out as my train was not departing until later in the day and I wanted to see a bit more of the pretty town.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and came with a couple of bottled waters and cans of coke/oj. There was also a small pack of salad dressing which was a nice touch if you wanted to do any meal preparation in the small kitchen in a room next to the bedroom. The broadband internet in the room was free and there was a large desk area away from the bed. The hotel is located in the main tourist area but on a quiet street so you can enjoy a restful night's sleep.

Getting to/from the Central Station (which brings you via the TGV from Paris in less than 2.5hrs) is pretty easy. If you're not laden with luggage, its an easy 15min walk over the quai to the aparthotel, otherwise jump on tram line A or B and get off at Homme de Fer - its €1.90 per ticket and don't forget to validate the ticket before boarding. Once you get to Homme de Fer stop, rue de Jeu de Enfants is just off to the west and the hotel about 50m from the corner.

Well recommended.

“Great location, decent apartments”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

We stayed in a one-bedroom club apartment with a toddler. The apartment was basic but had everything you would expect, although it was considerably smaller than it had appeared based on the pictures on the website. As mentioned in other reviews, the buffet breakfast is quite basic, but was included in the price for us. The hotel car park is very tight - we scraped our car (audi a4 so not massive) trying to get down to the lowest parking level but luckily managed to get spaces on the upper level thereafter. There are a number of decent restaurants around the hotel and it is in a really central location, but on a quiet street.

“Awesome during Christmas - center of town with family of 4”

I go to Strasbourg all the time for work, but this was the first time with my family. We needed a larger room, so Citadines was a good fit.

We arrived later at night from Frankfort Airport and there were staff smiling at the desk. We speak French, but it was obvious that English was no problem as well. The parking garage is a bit tight, but not as tight as the Best Western in Strasbourg. That hotel has the staff park your car!

The Citadines is on an urban street with no view, but the apartment was great and overall LOCATION was fantastic. We threw our luggage in the room and walked 5 minutes to the huge Christmas tree in Place Kleber.

We stayed 2 wonderful nights, then went on to Paris. Great experience.

I usually stay at the Sofitel or Regent Contades/Regent Petite France. I have added Citadines to my list, even when traveling alone.

“Make your own feast - right in the center of town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

Location, location, location...I like Citadines chain , they are just a notch above no-frill aparthotels but they win in terms of their locations ( in Paris, London...). Strasbourg is no exception. You can find hotels that will be 200-300 feet closer to center but they will be facing a tramway line.
Citadines Kleber is in a reasonably quiet side street . It makes all the difference in terms of sound and light pollution. I prefer to see a coffee-and- croissant place from my windows rather than a giant transit center.
Anyways, the walk to the very center and cathedral is very short and pleasant.5 minutes stroll through either the most picturesque side streets or big main shopping street - your choice.
Another very strong point - having a kitchen...and Citadines has a good semblance of a real working kitchen. I am always dismayed by hotels advertising "kitchenettes' and providing a microwave and a fridge. Citadines has a real cooktop, oven , dishwasher ( oh, you bet you will need one to clean up after foie gras feast ) and yes, microwave and fridge . All the necessary utensils are there. My advice for a perfect day out :
have coffee and croissants ,
do a shopping trip to Supermarche Auchan ( if you have a rented car, god for you - Citadines has ample underground parking , it is well worth it ). Buy following:
a loaf of local bread (made with potato flour)
a bottle of Sauterne ( it is half price compared to any place else )
fresh foie gras - as cheap or as expensive as you fancy ( they have short shelf live clearance 50% off all the time - you must cook it the same or very next day )
fresh local produce to your liking
a dessert - perhaps a Fouchon cake in frozen foods section , really !
Bring the goodies home.
Do sightseeing , cathedral is at its best starting at around 3pm when sun hits the windows.
Go to museums, or Parc de Orangerie ( particularly if you have kids - the wildlife and zoo is amazing ).
Come back and have a feast :) Foie gras takes shorter time to cook than to order it in a restaurant. And the price will be 1/10th of restaurant bill.
Use dishwasher to clean up. Rest.
By the way , even a Murphy bed in a smallest studio is very comfortable and easier to open and close than I would ever think.Bathroom is good and adequate quality - nothing designer or fancy. Everything is working as it is supposed to - and clean.

Room Tip: If there is a choice , splurge on bigger studio room so you don't a have to bother about murphy...

“Great Apartment hotel in the heart of Strasbourg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2011

I stayed here with my family (5 total people) and loved it. We booked it the day of our stay, and, aside from getting the form returned while trying to pack, it was a fairly easy process (they could benefit from online forms). Anyway, we found the hotel to be in a great location, just a 5 minute walk from the central square. The hotel provided on-site parking for a small fee (10 Euro), which was very secure. Check in was no problem and our room was fantastic. We asked for a Studio but received a 2 bedroom with a fold out couch in the living room, more than enough space for the 5 of us. The room was clean and spacious and provided a full kitchen, access to an enormous balcony and was well appointed with appliances and comfortable furniture. Breakfast was a little light compared to many other places w stayed in Europe, but still good. My only real regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer.
