I stayed in this residence once in 2008 and in Feb. 2009. I travel regularly to Strasbourg for work, but was unable to get another reservation until this month and Dec, as it immediately became popular. I was pleased with my previous stays, and staff accommodated my wish to be on the back.
Two weeks before my October reservation I received an email saying that they could not accommodate me in October or December and had made a reservation for me at another hotel. Further communication established that they had extended a block booking and were dislodging 26 persons who already had previous reservations for the months of Oct, Nov, and Dec. The receptionist was completely deaf to my protest that I had made my reservation more than a year in advance, and guaranteed it with my credit card, and therefore the studio was unavailable for them to rent to another party.
In early July 2009 I made 10 reservations with the Adagio in 2010 with their central booking office, but the Strasbourg residence has still to confirm in writing, despite my asking them four different times (they say the reservation is in order, but make excuses each time about the written confirmation). I have written to the manager and am awaiting a reply.

We stayed 10 nights in an apartment at Adagio in Strasbourg and were very pleased. We booked online and there were no problems. The location is excellent and we found our room to be as good as new, well equipped (including kitchen ware) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room did not have much of a view (inside yard), but we weren't expecting it either. If you're a very light sleeper, rooms on the street may have some noise from trams, we barely heard it.

If your looking for an apartment hotel to use a base for exploring Strasbourg and the Alsace region, we can sincerely recommend Adagio based on our experience.

I stayed here for a night during the NATO summit, when the entire city was shut down. So I can't complain about the noise from outside because there wasn't any. The rooms are small and space is at a premium. The bed folded down from the wall and was firm but comfortable. The service wasn't so hot. As I was ironing my shirt at about 11:45 that night the fuses all blew and I was left in total darkness. Luckily my BlackBerry was to hand so I used the screen to illuminate my path to the phone. The guy on duty downstairs explained that I had to reset the fuse and that the box was hidden away behind a false wall. "If you can't find it, I'll come up," he said with some resignation. I managed to find the fusebox without too much trouble, luckily. The breakfast was mediocre and even though I was there just before the kitchen opened, the scrambled eggs were still ice cold. My room cost 150 Euros a night and that doesn't strike me as great value.

Four of us stayed in the 2 room apartment in Early Dec for 5 days. Excellent apartment with a fully equiped kitchen. Modern finishings with large bathrooms. Bathing gel/ handwash provided. (Loved the eucalyptus oil in the bathing gel1)
As this was an aparthotel, the beds were not made daily and we had to bring out the trash but this added on the homeliness of the place.
The tramline was next to the hotel but thanks to thick curtains and soundproofing of the windows, we could hardly hear them. There was free wireless internet which was very useful for us to book last minutre train tickets, check on weather for day trips.
The location was excellent, as we were able to walk to shopping areas (gucci/ LV/ hermes were just 5-10 mins away), walk to the cathedral (5 mins away) and there were markets going on at Kleber place on many of the days.
We were able to buy wine/ pasta for cooking from nearby Simply supermarket and whip up warm meals in the apartment - which saved us quite a lot of money from eating in restaurants.
Value for money if staying with family.
