This hotel, popular with tour groups, and about fifteen minutes walk from the picturesque old quarter, seems to have received mixed TA ratings purely depending on whether people got new or older rooms. We had one of the modern rooms overlooking the square, rather than the railway station side, and good double-glazing meant we had no problems with noise. No complaints - the room was fine: large, if unexciting; clean, recently furnished and everything worked including the wifi. We chose the hotel because we wanted to avoid driving into Strasbourg and wanted to use the train (frequent, if a bit pricey).
Just three issues. First, we couldn't get into the hotel car park for any of the nights we were there, as it was consistently full. However, the guy on reception seemed happy to feed the pay-and-display machines in front of the hotel all day for us (or maybe he had a deal with the meter person...); and there were free spaces at these each time we came back to the hotel. Second, we never pay EUR12 and up for breakfasts in France. The railway buffet opposite provided outside tables, juice, coffee and croissants for a tiny fraction of what the hotel was charging. Finally, we (as others posting here) were astonished that the very nice spa/gym (with an excellent steam room) closed at 7pm.
