This is a truly lovely hotel in the perfect location for shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing in Belfort. The rooms are being renovated right now, so ask for a renovated one. Ours was nicely decorated in pale yellow with deep purple accents, and had a wood floor (what is called "parquet flottant" in France). We paid 114 euros for 2 people. It was very clean and had a large bathroom with a large tub/shower and then the toilet in a separate room. Though it didn't seem to be air-conditioned, they did have a fan in the closet for guest use, and the pair of tall French doors that served as windows opened onto tiny balconies. The bed was 2 twins joined together, and was a bit uncomfortable, but after comparing 3 of the 4 3-star hotels in Belfort, this is still by far my favorite. One advantage of the room was that it had a large entryway with the closet and the entrances to the toilet and the bathroom, then a door to the bedroom which could be closely to very effectively isolate the room from any noise or smoke from the hallway. A negative point is that the hallway and the ground floor lobby smelled like smoke, but this is common in French hotels and may change due to new national legislation scheduled for the end of 2006. The breakfast buffet was very fresh and featured assorted pastries and breads, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal, juices, and your choice of hot beverage served up by a very polite and attentive welcoming staff (11 euros). We also found the reception staff to be very welcoming and polite. We enjoyed our stay there and heartily recommend it for a pleasant stay in Belfort.
