“A good stay in a economical way.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

This i place is good property. It is clean and friendly. They are in the city centre and is very cheap as the prices are low. There are many people who use this for un expensive living. The beds are clean. Kitchen is all time open and breakfast is included. Feels homely.
But their night bar crawlers trip is a little tricky. So ask for terms and conditions before taking that 10 pound ticket.

“Worst ever!”

about my stay at the Hilton Chambers in Manchester.

I stayed from the 21st till 23rd october and this was the worst Hotel/Hostel EVER!!

Soon as i walked in to check in there was an issue - My resevation was not down on the system, then the staff found it and told me i had to pay up front, when i booked i was told i pay day of leaving the staff had no idea what they was doing.Hardly knew what one member of staff said to another.

I get to my room to find it a mess! if there was a hoover i would of done the hoovering myself! The sinks were filthy. The soap holder was broken and empty!

We was in a private room with our own kitchen facility but the lock number was wrong the member of staff didt even know we had our own kitchen! When we finally got into the kitchette i was appouled! There was Bleach open where the cerel was! the bread was mouldy!

Then i went to have a bath! There was no HOT water and the Taps didt even work on the bath! I went to complain and the member of staff told me the manager will contact me the day after or i can go down saturday at 9am. I went saturday to speak to the manager who was still not there! a female member of staff told me she would get the manager to call me! needless to say he never did and im still waiting.

I go back to my room to find someone had been in my room without consenting me!

There was a £10 fee to even watch tv!! £10 for hair dryer,£10 for a kettle.

There was no soap or bath wash in the room. the beds where made totally wrong, there was dirt on the sheets.

There was cleaning products over the floor on the hallways! and i am on crutches this is a serious health hazard.
The hostel was/is terrible and i shall never be coming back staff are very rude and not helpful!

“No private lockers, but great location, very clean, free bread and tea 24h, and good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

They could have private lockers inside the rooms for each guest, they just have the luggage room close to the reception. I did not have any problems with my bag, no one touched it, but I did feel insecure to leave my bag with my things free in the room. The room I stayed (108) did not get very dark because of the lights in the street, so I suggest taking a eye mask if you have problem with it. It was also a little bit noisy, because of the traffic in the street and ohter people in the room (it's a room for 8), but if you take ear plugs you will be fine (they also have it to sell in the hostel if you need). The rooms and the bed linen are very light and clean, as well as the bathroom. The do have internet (computers and wifi) but you have to pay, 50p for 15min, £5 for 1 day or £12 for 1 week. They have iron and hairdryer to borrow. There are many boards around the hostel will all sort of information (tourist attractions, transport, job...). Movies in dvd, games, video games, books, magazines available. Breakfast included: bread, butter, jam, yogurt, cornflakes, milk, coffee, and tea. Bread, butter and tea are free 24h. The hostel is very close to the town center and the Shudehill Interchange Bus Station (5-10 min walking), not far from the Central Coach Station (10-15 min walking).

“Cheap and cheerful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

Very basic but hey - you get what you pay for!

I stayed in a private room. It was worn but it was adequate. I had no problems with the shower and slept well in the bed.

This hostel benefits from its city centre location. It's a bit difficult to find tucked away on a back street but once I'd clocked it I had no problems getting to and fro.

I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The free tea and toast at any time and the secure luggage storage even after you've checked out are nice touches.

If you're looking for low cost convenience I would recommend this hostel. I am likely to stay again with friends.

This place is above the Koffee Pot, (paid) parking is 5 minutes around the corner and the Arndale/Printworks is about 10 mins walk down the road.

Good location, clean and basic but adequate.
