Myself and partner have just enjoyed a wonderful overnight stay at this hotel. Having stayed at the Lowry and Hilton in Manchester I was hoping that this hotel would be a little more intimate and personal without being pretentious. - Which I'm glad to say it was! Don't get me wrong the Hilton and Lowry both have their own plus points but as they are so big they often attact the crowd for me.

Rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated, baths are amazing! (look at the photos) Staff were very helpful and friendly which I felt was genuine not just service related. We had a lovely drink in the bar area and enjoyed the winter night in the hot tub on the roof terrace. We did not eat at the hotel in the evening but enjoyed breakfast and there was lots to choose from off the buffet and from the menu.

The only downside was the room was rather hot and due to this we opened the window at night which meant a little street noise - but you are staying in a city not the countryside! However these are my only criticisms and we will definitely return for a drink, afternoon tea and hopefully another stay.

The best hotel in Manchester by a mile. What a gem. The rooms are outstanding food is amazing. What a wonderful experience

I have now been a regular guest of the Great john Street Hotel for a number of years, as both a business user and when I return to my home city to see friends.
It is by far the nicest hotel I have ever used - I dare say there are more opulent ones and I have stayed in some that are breath taking, but what I love about this hotel is its warmth and memorability. When I run meetings here customers or colleagues leave feeling valued and as though they have been "invested in", there is a wow factor that is as much about the exceptional staff as its cute little lay out. The rooms are to die for and lack the cold (however well finished) stark reminder that you are away from home and the food, well I defy anyone not to love it. Above all for me the staff and the continuity of the staff is the reason above all that keeps me coming back - Jay

Awesome rooms, great staff, ambient bar, fantastic location, tasty breakfast . . . . just hate leaving! Always arrive with a smile as I know what's coming and always leave feeling totally pampered and chilled out. Haven't stayed at any of the others but if they're anywhere near as good as this then I think I may have to pay them a visit too!
