We decided to stay in the walkabout for a birthday weekend. We booked a double and a triple room. It is in a perfect central location and is the cheapest place to stay in town. Our rooms were made up in the day which we didn't expect and the rooms were clean enough. I have to admit we were pretty drunk and were coming in and out in the night and it seems a lot of other people were too, so if you are wanting an early night be sure to bring your earplugs as the doors are self closing and bang. The only complaint is that the triple room is advertised as a 3 bed, however it contains a single and a double bed.
As I mentioned the location is perfect. It is in the centre of town above the walkabout bar and with many other bars, restaurants and shops in walking distance and has a tesco express right on the corner. Our double was £35 per night and the triple was £45 per night. You really can't beat that. We were a little worried about what we got ourselves into with such a cheap place but were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The rooms each had the bed/s, a desk with tea making facilities, hanging space for clothes, bedside tables, a very good working heater and ensuite bathroom with mirror included a bath. They were also painted a nice shade of cheery yellow.
