“Nice place and cheap, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed over the weekend (Friday-Sunday) and had a double bedroom on the 4th floor. The bar/club downstairs was a bit noisy, but you could bear it...and the room was nice...simple, but you can't ask for more at that price I guess.
A good improvement could be postponing a bit the checkout time, and maybe having a locked room to keep the baggage even after the check out, rather than leaving the baggage in front of the reception...
I'd come back again to this place anyway!

“Awesome Stag/Hen Party location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I have attended this hotel as part of 3 stag parties (1 my own) and I annot express how good it is. The hotel is reasonably priced so dont go expected 5*, but you get what you pay for. You get a hotel adjoined to the Walkabout bar which enables your group to be slightly roudy without causing the hotel guests too much trouble plus it enables you late entry free if your stumbling back from another club, always a bonus. Finally it is well situated, we ended up at printworks for the evening and walked back so shows how central it is. Cant recommend it enough for this kind of stay, enjoy... We definately did!!!

“good value, very well located, don't pretend too much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Stayed in a double room. Basic but clean. We payd an amazing value for a nights stay in Manchester. This is basically a hostel, but I definetely suggest if you don't want to spend much money.
great location in the Centre.
Lift didn't work and some rooms had problems with water flood, but the guilty was of some others occupants that left the sink basin opened all night.
It's true is very noisy at night, but the price is very low.
Was also given a 20% off card for use in the bar on food and drink.

“Excellent for a cheap night in Manchester”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

Stayed in a double room. Basic but clean. It was £40 for the room so £20 each is amazing value for a nights stay in Manchester.
Been going out in Manchester for years so picked this Hostel for its great location in the Centre.

Lift didnt work but only had a light bag to carry up to the 6th floor.

Was also given a 20% off card for use in the bar on food and drink.

Will be using this place again.

Room Tip: The higher the better for avoiding the street noise

“Best value in this location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2011

We decided to stay in the walkabout for a birthday weekend. We booked a double and a triple room. It is in a perfect central location and is the cheapest place to stay in town. Our rooms were made up in the day which we didn't expect and the rooms were clean enough. I have to admit we were pretty drunk and were coming in and out in the night and it seems a lot of other people were too, so if you are wanting an early night be sure to bring your earplugs as the doors are self closing and bang. The only complaint is that the triple room is advertised as a 3 bed, however it contains a single and a double bed.

As I mentioned the location is perfect. It is in the centre of town above the walkabout bar and with many other bars, restaurants and shops in walking distance and has a tesco express right on the corner. Our double was £35 per night and the triple was £45 per night. You really can't beat that. We were a little worried about what we got ourselves into with such a cheap place but were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The rooms each had the bed/s, a desk with tea making facilities, hanging space for clothes, bedside tables, a very good working heater and ensuite bathroom with mirror included a bath. They were also painted a nice shade of cheery yellow.
