If you get this for a good rate (we paid c £60 for a twin room) you cant go wrong. Good location. Issues included room was smallish, walls a bit thin and the room could gave been cleaner...it wasnt dirty but plenty of room for improvement. Overall just about 4 stars for location and price.

We paid £125 for three nights and were fortunate to be upgraded to a suite. We needed nothing more than a bed for the night and this was the cheapest rate we could find in the whole area - including the low cost budget chains ! Location was excellent - right in the heart of Manchester. Staff were pleasant - the girls at check in were very good. Bathroom facilities were very good. Bar was good. Restaurant was OK but there is a wide choice of places to eat close by. Breakfast looked poor, was quite expensive and it appeared to be chaotically managed so we went to the Costa Coffee next door. Car Parking was the major disappointment and I would avoid the closely located NCP multi storey as the spaces are very small, there is no physical presence which begs a question over security, it is nearly £20 for from 6 up to 24 hours - £5.40 for anytime up to 2 hours - which is what it cost us for a 20 minute check in ! The money machine rounds everything up - 91p becomes a £1. All in all we were disgusted by this. We believe there are cheaper alternatives close by and we would suggest dropping one member of the party at the front door and then parking elsewhere. Apart from the NCP rip off this was a pleasant experience

Let's be honest, this is officially 3* rated and is very centrally located in Manchester. Yes, there are some things that could be improved, such as the decor in the rooms, the bar area is too small, and the lifts are tiny. However, those are minor niggles. The service is very good and attentive, and the meeting rooms are of a decent standard for the prices that they charge.

I've rated this a "3" but its very close to a "4". Just a few things, as mentioned above, mark it down. But all around, I would say that if you can get a good low rate, then its fine.

An overall enjoyable stay but the room was tired in places and smelt of smoke although I had booked non-smoking. Very central location. Good space in the room allowed working from the hotel for a morning which was very much facilitated by the good strength Openzone wifi. The ceiling of my bathroom was falling in was unfortunate. The gym although small was serviceable but a pity it closed at 14.30 on a Sunday.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
