“Great Abode”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We had a great weekend at the Abode in Manchester staying in the Johnny Cash suite. Having arrived early we expected to drop off our bags and grab some lunch but surprisingly the room was ready. The check in process was quick and all the staff were very helpful. The room itself was gorgeous and had everything we needed for an excellent stay.

“Nearly but not quite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

Our arrival as usual was excellent Les was on fine form. The MC bar staff were excellent. The Johnny Cash suite leaves much to be desired and is overpriced at GBP 275. The only mirror in the bathroom is over the toilet and not the sink - this makes shaving awkward. There is no make up mirror or hair dryer station in the suite - glad I took my own mirror The lighting is ambient but no choice for make up etc. ladies need light please note The meal in fine dining was excellent Ed provided excellent advice for cocktails and Corin ? The sommelier matched the wines beautifully to an exquisite tasting menu. Breakfast - there were 6 people - it took over 20 minutes for our breakfast to arrive. The toast was cold. Was this because one of our party ordered corned beef hash ? If so advise of the wait time A few negative comments this time but we will return as overall it is a very enjoyable experience and the staff are excellent.

“Loved the abode”

We have recently returned from a Friday night stay and we loved the abode Manchester. The reception team were really welcoming and helpful: they gave good instructions for the Trafford Centre and Salford Quays. We were booked into a standard room that we were happy with but then went on to be upgraded. To explain: as we went down to dinner the vigilant manager (Sean) over-heard our concerns as we wondered if a partying group of girls would disturb us. He promptly moved us to the 'fabulous fifth' floor room named Angel. The size, the quality fittings and the design features of the 'apartment' are a real wow. The meal in the inexpensive MC grill was excellent; it seemed to be a popular place with residents and passers by so the atmosphere was good. The staff that night and the next morning at breakfast was friendly and keen to please. We would certainly want to stay here again.

went beginning feb and was really looking forward to it , but after checking into our room was a little dissapointed , basic room , clean , but was expecting a "wow" factor that didnt happen.
the mini bar was on offer tho , not cheap , and after finding out we were dining in the mc bar and lounge , not the restaurant , we were given the menu of 3 choices for starters or dessert plus main course of 3 choices , veg option , fish pie or loin of pork for extra £1.50 pp. Chips and any other options were £3 per chioce.
We went for the "great value" cocktails , 2 for £9 , big dissapointment but wasnt paying £20 for wine that was £9 bottle 100 yards away
Breakfast in the morning was basic but ok.

“Amazing weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Stayed in Abode manchester on the weekend of 3rd Feb for two nights. We arrived on the friday afternoon and were imeadiatley made to feel welcome and shown to our room(304).The young red haired girl on reception processed our checkin in a speedy, helpfull and cheerfull manor. A standard that she maintained throughout the whole weekend.
We then spent the saturday night in the Micheal Caine's restaurant which from start to finish was flawless. The front of house team were amazingly organised, helpfull and efficient, a real credit to the restaurant manager. We both chose to eat from the tasting menu which was well balanced ,flavourfull and beautifluly presented. After dinner we sat in the champagne bar and was greeted by the cocktail bar tender. Not only did he remember us from the previous night, but also the drinks we'd ordered and what we should try next. He then recommended that he would put his own twist on our favourite drinks which were stunning. We're also engaged in conversation by the same bar tender(sorry i forgot his name) who informed us about the history of what we were drinking and how they were prepared.
I could go on and on but in short i found that every member of staff in both the hotel and restaraunt to be friendly , efficient and very professional and bieng in the trade myself i know that is a hard combination to get right. Thank you to everyone at Abode Manchester
