I arrived at the Doncaster Travelodge on a dark and rainy November evening, parked in the services parking area at one end of the Lodge and unloaded my luggage. But where's the front door? Nothing but windows! I trundled my cases down the side, along the back, still no entry.
I returned to my car, reloaded and drove to the other end, which adjoined the service building.
There I saw a small Travelodge sign with faded lettering underneath, - 'Reception >' pointing towards the main motorway services building. It materialised that entry to the Travelodge was in fact inside this building. Please Travelodge, 'Make this more obvious!'
Once inside, the receptionist was friendly and welcoming and told me that she had had the same problem on her first visit.
The room was the usual adequate, but basic, and served it's purpose for the price.
I did not feel especially safe and secure, -there was no code or card security door between the public service area and the accomodation, as in some Travelodges, so anyone could wander through at any time of night and my door would not lock from the inside.
Overall, it was fine and very convenient , - on the motorway , with free parking outside, and a choice of cafes/restaurants adjacent.
