we had our wedding here, and had a lovely day, sit down meal was fantastic , buffet on the night was fantastic, we had a package deal our flowers, cakes , photos ect were all fantastic.the only thing i think i could offer as advise and hope management take on board would be to have the reception painted and tidied up and replace the carpet in there, also i can see that there has been some negative comments left but i can say they are in the middle of improving everything and opening wedding house.
All the staff were very helpful and ray the owner was very good with us and anything asked about or wanted he did sort, i think maybe they need a chance to get the renovation up and running and completed !!!!!! tip - put a hook off the ceiling in the bridal suits for the brides to hang there dress

We were attending a wedding on 2/11/11, we booked 2 double rooms. OMG, I have never stayed in such a filthy place in my life! The carpet was so badly stained, it looked like someone had been sick on the carpet and it hadn't been cleaned properly, the colour should have been a beige carpet, but it was awful. The bed had stains on the bottom, the bathroom was filthy.... The room stunk of cigarettes, and was just not fit for human living! All night the tap dripped and the plumbing pipes shrieked, I never slept a wink all night.
When we went down in the morning for breakfast the man serving was in such a rush, he had brought the cooked breakfast out before we had even finished the cereal, and when the bride and groom came down 5 minutes late, they were told they would not be served as it had closed... IT WAS THEIR HONEYMOON NIGHT! Get a life!
No wonder you have to pay as you you go into the hotel, they probably realise that people wouldn't pay at all!
For £54 a night - I would never stay there again, and would not recommed it to anyone.

The staff was friendly enough but the night we stayed there was a function going on under our room. Good thing we were going out because the noise was so loud the bed was moving. Our room reeked like body odour and there were stains all over the uneven bed. The walls were patched and the floor was stained and filthy. We actually put towels down on the bed so we didnt have to touch the sheets. We didn't want to eat there, so I cant review the breakfast.

We got their late so perhaps we got the worst room in the hotel but we heard our friends were going to book some rooms there (for an upcoming event) and we told them not to. I wouldn't want anyone to stay in what were quite simply horrible conditions. I wish I had thought to take a picture so you can see I am not exaggerating!

Me and my partner stayed here 26/11/11 for 1night in room 52. The staff were very welcoming and really nice. We got told at check-in that there was a problem with the heating and it wasn't working, which wasn't too much of a problem but it was abit chilly. The room itself was dirty. Marks on the walls, marks on the dressing table, shower head was covered in black mold, so neither of us had a shower. The carpets were filthy and covered in stains. There was a constant sound from a boiler of some sort next door and also the ventalator in the bathroom, which were both very annoying. The bed sheets were fresh and clean and also there was sachets of Galaxy hot chocolate, which was a nice touch. It states on the hotels website that its just had a refurb but they definatly need to re-decorate and have new carpets fitted! I will be uploading photos aswell! For what you pay I was expecting basic but not for it to be dirty :-(
