“Huge room - few lights”

I was impressed, the receptionist was polite and let me book in 3 hours early. The room was very large, but in bedroom area there was no ceiling light, only a work table one and two bedside lights. I had a comfy sofa, dressing table and work desk without the room seeming cramped.

There wasn't central heating so no heated towel rail - or hot radiator to lean against when I needed to thaw out.

Staff were very dedicated, a few friends and I were stranded in a party on the other side of the river in the snow, we had no joy getting a taxi but after calling the hotel the receptionist found a company willing to come out.

There is a spa, swimming pool and gym but having got back at 3.30 I decided to sleep in the next day.

A Very nice hotel.

“Paying for the name”

My room was spacious & clean, but lighting is poor. The bed is firm with plump pillows. The outside of the bedroom window was very dirty. The bathroom has a large bath but if you are over six foot tall you will have to bend to get under the shower head, and the temperature varies while under it. There was an occasional banging noise that sounded like some pipes, but not in my room. Wi-Fi access is extra (just under £15). If you have not got a deal that includes breakfast a full English will sting you for £18.75, Continental £14.75. The health centre has a small pool and Jacuzzi, running & weight machines.
This is what I call a transit hotel; you would only stay for one night unless it was a very special deal like a pamper day.

“Excellent weekend away!”

Myself and my best friend stayed here on 27th and 28th January for my 21st Birthday. We had a girls weekend away package which included B&B for both mornings, Dinner the night we arrive and 1 treatment per person. We also booked other treatments for the saturday before our other 2 friends joined us for our night out in Essex! We decided to upgrade our room for only an extra £56 for the 2 nights to a deluxe double double room. This included a refurbished room, 2 double beds, wine, slippers and bathrobes. I would recommend the upgrade, the room was lovely! The breakfast is lovely and so is the dinner! Unfortunatly we missed breakfast on the sunday due to our late night out.. so we were gutted!!
Staff and friendly and welcoming.. There is a £3 per night car parking charge and also a £50 deposit on arrival which you get back at the end of your stay!
Would definatly stay here again!

“Homely Hilton”

We stayed here one night after arriving from Australia the night before a cruise departing from Tilbury. It was no trouble to obtain a cab from the hotel to the wharf and I was glad we took the trip from Heathrow the night before. Adequate room, not sumptuous and good English breakfast. Staff and service homely, friendly and very adequate.

“Great Hotel !”

We stayed in a suite here and had a great weekend. We wanted to do some shopping at 'Blue Water' and to get away for a relaxing weekend. Great rooms and really helpful and friendly staff. Food was excellent on room service.
