“Weekend break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed for 3nights and the stay was really enjoyable, the reception staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious! My daughter particularly enjoyed the waffles! The breakfast staff were really helpful and always greeted with a smile. We ate in the bar one evening and Jenny who served us really went that extra mile when we were told that there were no pizzas she rang the kitchen and asked if they could serve the smaller childrens ones instead which pleased my daughter no end! It doesn't taket a lot to be polite and courteous but a number of hotels we have stayed at can't seem to even manage this. Yours is definitely the exception and we will definitely visit again. Thank you!

“Girls weekend away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Stayed at the Hilton Maidstone - booking one of their offers for 2 nights B&B for a very good price. Arrived Friday pm, walked up to the local pub for a meal, had a 3 hour walk Saturday. A swim in the pool in the afternoon.

The breakfast is extremely generous, lots of good variety and the staff at the hotel are all very polite and helpful. Shame about the children running through the corridor at 1am'ish Sunday morning!

We had a very good weekend. The snow falling Saturday evening/night was a worry, but as it is so close to the M20 was really not a problem to get home from.

Room Tip: 218 was very good.

“Great Service but not Hilton-esque”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Stayed in a ground floor Deluxe King as a treat for my birthday... the staff were very welcoming and as requested by my wife decorated the room with baloons and decorations.

First to the Pros :

- nice relaxing lobby area
- good buffet breakfast with plenty to chose from
- good customer service and very responsive guest services team
- friendliness of staff

Now to the Cons :

- A Cold temperature throughout the whole hotel...the rooms had a poor standard of heating consisting of one measely old style wall convector heater!! which despite being cranked up full blast throughout our stay, the room was still freezing...the restaurant and bar area seemed the same as no heating/vents were evident so it was just as cold there - A major let down in my eyes - disappointing stuff that from a 4star Hilton!!

- No mini-bar/fridge

- Quality of the bed was poor : 1.the bed was on wheels which kept rolling away from the headboard...but was promptly fixed by the guest service manager and his team (thank you). 2. the quality of mattress was far too springy and had clearly seen lots of action and lastly 3. the pillows were all too soft/fluffy (woke up in the morning dreaming of sleeping back in my own bed)

- Aesthetically the outside of the hotel doesnt look too appealing but was relieved when walking through to reception

- Although check-in was quick, and easy there seemed a lack of staff/management presence on check-in and telephone presence

- Noise from the front door seem to just seep through as if the door is open

Room Tip: Request a room with Garden View

Dear reviewer,
Thank you for your constructive feedback and praises to our team, I am also glad that you found the service "great". I am sorry that you did not find our usually efficient heating system good enough to cope with the extreme weather we are experiencing at the moment, we did invest in four back up boilers last year to try and make our guests stay as pleasant as possible in such conditions.

I am surprise with your feedback about management in the lobby, a senior person is tasked on a daily basis to be there at check in and checkout times, I am sorry it was not noticeable when you were there, I will pass your feedback to the team.

We also have just fitted 90 new beds and mattresses and I can assure you none in our hotel is older than 2 years, I am sorry the specification is not to your liking; however they are compliant with Hilton brand standards.

I am grateful to you for taking the time to suggest a range of services and facilities we could modify or implement. I can assure you that we are constantly listening to our customer’s feedback and taking action accordingly.

I am sorry we did not meet your expectations, however I do hope to have the opportunity to welcoming you back to the Hilton Maidstone, I am confident we can provide a world class guest experience and change your perception.
Regards,
Leonardo Gagliano

“great service, smile and leisure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Stayed here for a weekend with family and not for the first time. The staff are always accomodating and the room was clean and spacious, on ground floor near to access to leisure complex. - this is fab and had a couple of hours in pool/sauna etc. not busy really and well looked after. Food is decent here and had a lovely 3 course evening meal for £20p/p - my only gripe in cost of drinks which is too much!!! if it was lower by around 25% then it would be a perfect stay. Handy for Maidstone and surrounding areas, easy access to motorway.

Room Tip: top floor probably preferable but no real good or bad rooms.
