“Excellent night's sleep!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I stayed here for a conference which was taking place in the hotel. The lounge and bar area by the entrance to the hotel is cosy and characterful, especially with the open fire. I had a single room which was very tastefully decorated and had a wonderfully comfortable bed. My only gripe is that there was only a shower and the water pressure wasn't brilliant. The food was lovely and the staff were courteous and helpful.

Room Tip: Stay in the main hotel as the walls in the coach house are very thin.

Dear Mabel,

Thank you for you review on tripadvior, I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed you conference with us. In particular I am pleased to see that you enjoyed the food and service, two things which we very much pride ourselves on having recently achieved 4 AA stars and a rosette in the restaurant (I have had the challenging job of tasting all of Chef's creations!).

We are looking to invest in improving the shower pressure during 2012 however this is a considerable outlay and considering various options at present. Should you feel this would disturb you during your next stay please bring this to attention of my team and we will be pleased to be allocate a room known to have better shower pressure.

Thank you once again for your reveiw and we look forward to welcoming you back to Parkside House.

Kind Regards,

“Fantastic!”

WOW this hotel really has put a smile on my face. My Wife and I have just spent a long weekend here for our first wedding anniversary and had just a perfect weekend.
We booked this hotel through 'Travel Zoo' and to be fair got a really good deal but you always have in the back of your mind that your going to get treated differently to the full paying customers. This was not the case, service was second to none! We had a standard room and it was excellent, huge plasma TV, huge and comfy double bed, huge bathroom, dressing table for the wife, fridge for the men (wink) and a dinning table under the window overlooking some beautiful views. Only bad thing i can possibly think of was the water pressure in the bathroom but it wasn't something to moan about. We had a 3 course meal in the evening which was spot on, very filling and tasteful. Breakfast in the morning was first class with plently to choose from hot and cold, couldn't ask for anything more! Oh and if you like Tea, go for the afternoon team for 2, you get a lot more than you expect!
I just say anything bad about this hotel, i will certainly be going back and recommending to many. You wont be dissapionted!!

Room Tip: No need to pay for upgrade, standard rooms are perfect!

“Nice hotel, pricey food, internet too expensive.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This hotel was reasonable. The rooms were good, as expected. The beds are great, the size of the rooms is to be commended.

I liked the breakfast but the food in the bar was very much overpriced (good quality, though). The wine was also expensive and the TV wasn't working so we couldn't even watch the match! The staff were all very good and attentive.

The grounds here are very green and completely different to what one would expect in Milton Keynes!

I thought the internet charges here are a farce. Hugely expensive and over the top and I cannot see how they can justify the cost.

Thank you for your review on tripadvisor.com. Sorry to hear that you felt our pricing was a little on the high side but pleased to hear that you recognised the high levels of quality that we strive to offer. I would certainly recommend that you look into our dinner inclusive rates which offer AA rosette cuisine at fantastic value for money for your next stay with us. As with all Mercure Hotels we offer a range of fine wines (Les Grande Vins) at fixed cash margins meaning exceptional wines are available at exceptional prices, our sommelier is always happy to guide people through this list should it be required.

I am pleased to say that we now offer complimentary WIFI in our public areas for guests using our bar and lounge facilities. We do aim to offer a higher than average bandwidth so that guests are able to use most internet facilities freely during their stay with us.

Thank you once again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back to Parkside
House in the near future.

Kind Regards,
