I didn’t actually stay at this hotel, I only attended a function being help there. However, based on this experience alone I’m rather glad that I didn’t stay there!!
Upon arriving at the hotel and parking the car in their car park, we walked to the reception door - for which you had to walk on the road as there was no actual footpath leading to its door. As a parent, this concerned me as I do often travel with children. The receptionist was polite enough and we sat down in the reception area whilst awaiting our host.
When we were shown to our conference area, we were led through the breakfast room where staying guests were eating their breakfast. The conference group was rather large and i felt this would be rather off putting to the guests, having a large convoy of people being walked through, between their tables whilst they were trying to eat.
Once we entered the conference room, we were greeted by an awful smell - we were then asked to keep the door open as the staff had tried to (rather unsuccessfully) hide the smell with air fresheners.
During the day, we had a break from our conference and when we asked the staff for assistance in finding the toilets, we were just pointed in a general direct and left wondering round searching by ourselves - and along this wondering journey, we passed a large glassed door and window area and as we just happened to look outside noticed that there was a pair of, what can only be described as, ladies underwear! Obviously we were not interested in examining this item for full identification!
Not sure if this says more about the hotel or the clientele that it attracts?? Bearing in mind that they were heavily advertising for Weddings at this particular Hotel, you would think that they would want to make it look a little bit more respectable!!
